My professional interests include feline medicine, emergency and critical care, research, and teaching. During that time, I was a Certified Veterinary Technician, with most of my experience being in emergency medicine and research/laboratory animal medicine. I have worked in animal health for over 15 years, starting in 2003. I received my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Biology from Northern Arizona University and earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Midwestern University in 2020. I grew up in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago until I graduated high school and moved to Arizona. I look forward to providing your pets with the best quality health-care they deserve!

When I’m outside of work, I love mountain biking, hiking, and fishing - plus going to the trap and skeet range from time to time. I live with my Australian Shepard, Duke, and his (Golden Retriever) baby brother, Oliver. As for my veterinary interests, I enjoy surgery (specifically orthopedic) and internal medicine cases. While in school, I worked in two research facilities, where I practiced husbandry with many animals, including monkeys! I received my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University, and joined Arrow Animal Hospital & Grooming in March 2019. I began by attending The University of Arizona for my BS in Veterinary Sciences. As I got older, I realized how critical and rewarding proper animal health-care was for my dog, so I wanted a career where I could help deliver this same care to other pets. Shortly before moving, my family adopted my childhood dog and best friend, Bear, which is when my passion for animals began.

I was born in Glendale, AZ, but moved to Tucson when I was 9 years old. I spend my spare time practicing yoga, hiking, traveling, and learning new music from my children. Our pets include 2 dogs, 3 cats, 2 Amazon parrots, and a desert tortoise. Susan Goshert, and we have 2 adult children. While in veterinary school, I was a Student Coordinator for the Raptor Rehabilitation Program, Colorado Division of Wildlife, and worked as a volunteer animal keeper at the Phoenix Zoo during the summers. I believe all pets should have access to good health care and have earned over 250 hours of continuing education in exotic animal medicine. While my primary focus is canine and feline medicine, I have a special interest in exotic animal medicine, including pocket pets, rabbits, birds, and reptiles. I have practiced veterinary medicine in the Phoenix area for over 30 years. I went on and received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University. I earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Zoology from Arizona State University. I grew up in Scottsdale and graduated from Coronado High School. My hobbies include photography, scrapbooking, church, cooking and sewing. We have two pets – a 12-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Australian Cattle Dog mix, and a 14-year-old Flame Point Ragdoll cat. Life at home includes my husband Derek, and our daughters, Ashley and Tiffany. My special interests in the Vet field include Dentistry, Dermatology, Ophthalmology and surgeries. Today, I am proud to be a part of the AZPetVet family again. It was my first experience in the AZPetVet family – but not my last! In 2000, I went back to school to study Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University and received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. In 1998, I started working as a Vet Tech at AZPetVet Bell Ridge Animal Hospital. In 1997, I became a Veterinary Nurse at the emergency clinic. While studying at ASU, I began volunteering at the Arizona Humane Society and a local emergency animal clinic. In 1996, I moved to Arizona in order to study Agribusiness at Arizona State University, graduating in 1998. I was born in Buffalo, New York, and grew up in California. I look forward to partnering with you in the health and care of your pets!

My free time is filled with family activities, community service, travel, bicycling, and serving at my church, Pure Heart Christian Fellowship. We also enjoy spending time with our Himalayan kitty, Bandit. My wonderful wife and I have been married more than 30 years, and we have three children and four amazing grandchildren. I love being a veterinarian, and I am passionate about helping our clients and their pets.

After earning my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 1974, I moved to sunny Phoenix, AZ, and have been enjoying the beautiful desert ever since! I joined the AZPetVet family in 1994, working at Roadrunner Animal Hospital & Grooming for the last 25 years before transferring here to our Arrow Animal Hospital & Grooming location in 2020. I was born and raised in rural northwest Iowa, where I spent my summers as a kid active in 4-H, working on the farm and drinking Root beer floats to stay cool.
